34Immunization Video
funded by UNICEF:
7 Polio Spots for television were made under the Social Marketing of
Immunization project and were aired on national television from 1990
onwards to promote awareness on effects of polio on young children.
All spots reinforce the central message that children from 1 month
to a year are to be given polio shots three times within the first
year of birth as a precautionary health measure. One spot depicting
a grandfather “Hajur Ba” and his granddaughter continues
to be aired on television. Kuber Gartaula, a veteran script
writer directed these spots and Deependra Gauchan filmed
the spots.
